"Health Canada Urges Immediate Cease of Cannabis Edibles Usage in Ontario Due to Mold Concerns"

Health Canada is issuing a warning to Ontarians regarding a specific brand of cannabis edibles potentially contaminated with mold. The affected product is WellCann Intl. Inc.'s BonBon Turkish Delight – Lokum edible cannabis, sold between December 1, 2023, and February 8, 2024. The agency advises consumers to immediately stop using these products due to possible microbial contamination, which could lead to gastrointestinal symptoms and infections, especially in individuals with compromised immune systems. The recalled batches, consisting of two 15 milligram gummies, were packaged on November 27, 2023, and January 8, 2024, totaling 587 units sold. These products were distributed through authorized retailers in Ontario via the Ontario Cannabis Store. Although only one complaint has been reported to WellCann, Health Canada urges consumers who purchased these items to either return them to the store of purchase or safely dispose of them, especially if opened, to prevent any potential harm.
